Decaf // A collection of coffee from small-holder farmers in Northern Huila, roasted to a sweet medium. The only thing missing from this decaf is the caffeine, not the flavour.
In order to export from Colombia farmers must have a minimum of 1.5 hectares of land. Bringing farmers together in a collaboration allows them to reach the larger market and earn more for their families.
What about the name? The story goes that a politician in Colombia had a good friend who worked for Volvo's transit division. He convinced the country to decommission all of it's trains and purchased buses through his good friend. To this day there is 1 consistently running train in Colombia. It takes tourists from Bogota to the 'Cathedral de Sal' - a salt mine turned catholic cathedral. There's no caffeine in decaf and no trains in Colombia.
